The Creative Future Writers’ Award is a national writing development programme which celebrates talented, underrepresented writers who lack opportunities due to mental health issues, disability, health or social circumstance.
The Creative Future Writers’ Award is the only free to enter national writing competition for all underrepresented writers. Prize winners are selected by a panel prestigious authors and industry experts and are given the opportunity to develop their work through training, mentoring, assessment and coaching.
Prizes include £23,000 worth of cash and writing development prizes supplied by prominent publishers and development agencies.
Our 2024 Writers’ Award competition will be open from 31 January at 9am.
The theme for 2024 is ‘Reveal.’ The theme is a creative prompt, not a requirement. Send us your best work!
The deadline for entries is Sunday 19 May at 11:59 pm.
You can submit ONE piece of writing, up to and not exceeding the word limits (not including the title, section/stanza breaks, or epigraphs):
- Poetry: 50 lines
- Fiction: 2,000 words
- Creative Non-Fiction: 2,000 words
